Adnams brewery has stood in the heart of Southwold for over six hundred years and "Southwold Jack" appears on our oldest beer labels. He continues to guard over our longest serving beer brewed here in Southwold on the Suffolk coast - The Bitter. The Bitter goes well with roast meats and fish cooked in batter as the clean bitterness cuts through the slightly fatty notes and hence keeps the palate refreshed. The Bitter also makes a good aperitif.

Bitburger Drive is brewed in exactly the same way as the full strength Bitburger Pilsner beer. Only when the beer has matured completely is the alcohol removed using an extremely gentle process that means that Bitburger Drive retains all the qualities of Bitburger Premium beer. This contrasts with other alcohol-free beers that are brewed by stopping the fermenting process.
Adnams Explorer captures the spirit of discovery by blending Chinook and Columbus hops with the New World. The citrus attack will burst on your palate. Fantastic served chilled and the fruity hoppiness of the "blonde and interesting" beer means that it goes well with cleanly flavoured foods. Good tannic structure, with ripe delicate tannins. Notes of smoke and leather. Long and fruity with a balanced oaky finish. This is a Claret of classic proportions albeit from a modest vintage. Now showing well it is perfect fare for the evening dinner table. Decant or open an hour in advance and set it alongside lamb or pork dishes for best effect.
The beer our version of and American IPA and is brewed with a blend of Wheat and Pale ale malts to give a spicy, biscuity undertone to the beer, but it is in the hops where the beer really shines. A blend of hops from England, Slovenia and America (namely Boadicea, Columbus and Stryian Goldings) combine to give a wonderful grapefruit and tropical fruit aroma and bitterness that is balanced by the sweetness of the barley.

The Scotto family hail from the island of Ischia in the bay of Naples. The first Scotto in the US, Domonic, worked as a caulker in the shipyards and made wine at home. The wine making tradition has been passed down the generations to his grandson Anthony who now runs the family wine business.

Once the property of the Medici Grand Dukes this is a 104 hectare estate now owned by the Conti Contini Bonacossi family with all seven children working in the business. Barco Reale comes from the younger vines on the estate and is matured in casks of Allier oak for 10 months.
A 70 hectare estate situated near Panzano. The Manetti family have owned this estate since 1968 and have worked with renown winemaker Franco Bernabei since 1979. The vineyards are in the area known as the 'Conca d'Oro' or golden shell where a favourable southern exposure guarantees high levels of ripeness.
Lucia Bazzocchi has now handed this 31 hectare estate on to her son, Luca Sanjust. Luca focuses on concentration with pitifully small yields per vine and now has a growing reputation as one of the finest producers of Chianti in his region.
