The 2008 vintage was looking challenging as it had rained for most of August and through to mid September. When the rains stopped a strong wind from the north blew for many days. This had the simple effect of holding up a giant hair-dryer to the vines; the grapes dried, rotten ones fell to the ground and what remained was healthy.
