We have followed with great interest, the wines from the larger-than-life-Englishman-abroad, Jonathan Maltus. This elegantly textured, Merlot dominant offering has very good grip, lovely ripe intensity of black fruit and was showing harmonious, smokey, toasty oak tones at this stage of tasting. From a brilliantly appointed winery, this has great integrity and shows what these relatively low-lying vineyards of St Sulpice and Vignonet are capable of producing. Drink from 2012 – 18.
