Domaine Traslepuy products, discounts, deals and sales
The Great Zorbel. Youthful Traslepuy proprietor Frédéric Z. has the attention-grabbing skills of a circus ringmaster. Hearing we were in the southern Rhône he waylaid us with an invitation to taste and we're glad he did. In 2000 he took vineyards around Roquemaure and Lirac, began cultivating organically and built his own winery. This big, ripe Grenache-based red has well-structured tannins supporting velvety black fruit flavours. Great with Suffolk sausages.
Choosing the supplier for our own Côtes du Rhône was no easy matter. We found that vital spark of real character in the hands of a one-man-band. Frederic Zobel took over the running of the family vineyards in 1998, converted to organic viticulture, built his own winery, found a list of merchants and started 'phoning them. It is Frederic's personal involvement at every level that has produced a wine that we think of as a classic of its region - every inch a good Rhône red.

In the mid-1990s, Philippe du Roy of Châteauneuf's famed Domaine de Villeneuve joined forces with consultant Philippe Cambie, seeking to produce 'authentic' (rather than flashy, souped-up and overblown) southern Rhône wines that owed their character to natural processes involving earth, vines, fruit, harvesting and winemaking. Minimal intervention is the mantra here. This wine is unfiltered and all the better for it. A wild and feral whirl of rustic red fruit flavours.
A family run domaine who predominantly grow Sauvignon Blanc in and around the area of Chaudoux-Verdigny in Sancerre. Made from 100% Sauvignon this wine exhibits classic peach and mineral characters coupled with a racy acidity giving excellent balance and structure.

Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur was inspired by the French tradition in which sweet and fresh elixirs were fortified by fine eaux de vie and cognac.
