Drouhin Laroze products, discounts, deals and sales
Dense, rich and complex with joyous deep raspberry fruit and an elegant, oaky finish, this resounding red (a forthright style, for game) owes its concentration to the exceptional 2003 vintage. Young Philippe Drouhin, only three vintages into his new job (founded in 1919 when Jean-Baptiste Laroze and Alexandre Drouhin united at the altar, also conjoining some of the Côte de Nuits' best vineyards), coped admirably, turning the heatwave very much to his advantage.

Long Product Description
Thoughtful Etienne Pochon is our touchstone for quality in the large northern Rhône appellation of Crozes-Hermitage, which surrounds Hermitage proper and yields lighter Syrah styles. Generations of Pochons have occupied the cobblestone-built medieval Château de Curson, but have only made their own wines, by eco-friendly methods, since 1988. Aged in large barrels, this supple, savoury wine has ripe redcurrant fruit and hints of liquorice, pepper and spice. Great with roast ham.
