La Lancellotta is the name of the vineyard just outside the picturesque town of Gavi in the Piedmont area of Northeast Italy. This wine is made from the Cortese grape which is native to this area. La Lancellotta is a great expression of Gavi. A light wine, with steely minerality, apple, peach and apricot flavours and refreshing grapefruit and lime character. This wine can be enjoyed on its own but would also match very well with grilled chicken or fish dishes and salads.

2006 Maranges 1er cru 'La Fussiere' Domaine Bachelet-Monnot
The appellation of Maranges is a relatively new creation of which the Bachelet brothers own 6 hectares of the 1er cru vineyard 'La Fussiere', which probably makes them the biggest land owners in this appellation. Their sons have set out to rival them and rent vineyards from their father as well as others. They distinguish themselves by adding their mother's maiden name Monnot, from whom they rent vineyards in Puligny, to their label. They look like succeeding!
