Full flavour, the perfume characteristics become more spicy, with a bitter hint of Seville oranges in a decidedly dry finish.

Ardbeg Ten Years Old is a very special bottling for the Ardbeg distillery as it is the first non-chill filtered whisky in the Ardbeg range. Chill filtering isn't a bad thing, in fact it created real consistency of product when the whisky industry was a little more 'hap-hazard' than it is today. Ardbeg Ten Years Old is whisky with none of the goodness taken out and as good as straight from the cask. Who would believe that back in 1981, the distillery fell silent and was mothballed? Fortunately in 1997, to the delight of fans all over the world Glenmorangie plc rescued Ardbeg and a team of dedicated souls set about repairing and reviving the distillery (not to mention repainting it!). Now, once again Ardbeg flows freely.
This unique Auchentoshan Whisky has been matured in three diffrent cask types. American Bourbon, Spanish Oloroso Sherry and finally Pedro Ximenez Sherry Casks, producing a rich complex whisky with incredible toffee and sherry oak flavours.
Colour: Pale gold. Like a sunset over the field of Bannockburn. Nose: In connoisseur speak, it's sweet and well balanced, with notes of vanilla, pears, possibly violets, some nuts and fresh hay. Taste: A full flavour with a trace of smoke and a body like a supermodel's (beautiful and light). It's silky smooth with a slight lemon tartness that counters the rich maltiness and almost chewable grain. Oh, and did we mention it had a body like a supermodel's? Finish: Warm and balanced with a slight smokiness. Long for such a delicate blend, with malt and toffee really tickling your toungue. Also leaves strong hints of disapointment on your palate as you stare at your empty glass.
Nose - A full-bodied malt with aromas of raisin, green apple and hints of banana and lemon. The American oak barrels, used in the distillate's maturation, lend a warm toffee, vanilla fragrance. Colour - Balblair 1989 is mid-amber in appearance with honey-gold highlights. Taste - On the palate there are raisins and fruits with a rich spiciness leading to a long, complex and ultimately smooth finish.
Balblair 2000 is bright golden in appearance. A superbly well balanced, full-bodied malt with aromas of pears, pineapple and green apples; hints of honey and vanilla, that come from the long years of maturation in American ex-bourbon oak barrels, can also be detected, adding to the complexity of this exceptional Vintage. On the palate the sweet, honey, floral notes combined with hints of coconut and rich spices lead to a smooth, long lasting and warming finish. Appearance: Bright gold. Aroma: Pears, pineapple and green apples; hints of honey and vanilla. Palate: Sweet, honey, floral notes combined with hints of coconut and rich spices. Finish: Smooth, long lasting and warming.
Ballantine's Finest is a complex, refined and elegant blended scotch whisky. It is regarded as the taste to satisfy a modern style. The original flavour, complexity and refinement comes from more than 50 single malt flavours. The unmistakable Ballantine's flavour is dependent on these 50 single malts, 4 single grains and in particular the fingerprint malts from Miltonduff and Glenburgie. It is balanced because no one single component dominates. Colour: A light gold Nose: Deep with hints of spice Body: Rounded Taste: Well balanced with tones of chocolate, apple and vanilla followed by a gently floral finish Finish: Sophisticated after-taste gives a fresh floral glow.
The Balvenie Doublewood Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 12 year old single malt which gains its distinctive character from being matured in two woods. During its period of maturation The Balvenie Doublewood is transferred from a traditional oak whisky cask to a first fill Spanish oak sherry cask. Each stage lends different qualities to the resulting single malt - the traditional casks, having previously held bourbon, soften and add character, whilst the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour. The nose is Sweet fruit and oloroso sherry notes, layered with honey and vanilla. The taste is a smooth and mellow single malt of beautifully combined flavours - nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness and a delicately proportioned layer of sherry - with a long and warming finish.
The Balvenie Single Barrel Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a 15 year old single malt which is drawn from a single bourbon cask of a single distillation. Each cask forms a limited edition of hand-numbered bottles - there will be a maximum of 350 bottles from any one cask - so each bottle is unique and unrepeatable. Each cask is subtly different, however, The Balvenie Malt Master selects for bottling only those casks that have the essential characteristics of The Balvenie Single Barrel - particularly honey, vanilla and oaky notes. The nose is a fragrant aroma of vanilla honeyed sweetness, hints of heather and dry oaky notes. The taste is rich and complex, suggestive of years of careful ageing, it has a honeyed maltiness with vanilla oak flavours, and hints of spicy peat notes. It has a long and complex finish with a touch of liquorice. 'Silky, rich and complex; a stunning mix of red jelly fruit, guava, orange peel and honey. Magnificent.' Dave Broom, The Handbook of Whisky.
Limited stock. The Balvenie Thirty is a rare and especially fine single malt for which David Stewart selects only exceptional casks that were laid down over thirty years ago. By marrying The Balvenie slowly aged in traditional oak whisky casks with that aged in European oak sherry casks, David creates a rich, mellow Scotch whisky with unusual depth and complexity. 'Thirty' is bottled at 47.3% abv to capture all the signature characteristics of The Balvenie. Nose: Silky smooth and honeyed on the nose with mellow oaky tones and hints of candied orange peel. Taste: Great depth with rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelised pear. Finish: Exceptionally smooth and warming with gentle spice and lingering sweetness.
Amber colour with mahogany highlights. Fine nose, marked by notes of vanilla, cinnamon and candied orange. Lots of roundness in the mouth with floral, woody and spicy notes leading to a long and pleasing finish of grilled almonds and vanilla. The 10 year old Baron de Sigognac delivers an exceptional and rare taste. Mild yet fiery at the same time like a gently toasted Arabica coffee. The aromas embody a wide range evoking floral followed by fruity notes yet overall dominated by the sensation of a perfect balance between fruit and spices. Cigar lovers will enjoy it with a classic Havana; without doubt, a cigar with average chewiness and a light spicy smoke adding roasted touches striking a common chord of balance and strength. We advise for example a Tainos - Rey del Mundo.
Very supple on the nose, dominated by impressions of vanilla and reminiscent of brioche. Quite velvety on the palate at the start followed by flavours of violets. A gentle but long finish evokes liquorice, cinnamon and dried fruit.
'Winner' - International Spirit Challenge de Londres - 2000.
Yellow gold amber colour and clear. Complex and strong nose, giving floral notes with a characteristic perfume of plums. Very good balance in the mouth, endowed with a suave vanilla taste with notes of crystallised fruits that is very rare in a VSOP. Silver medal at the 2004 International Spirit Challenge in London, the VSOP Baron de Sigognac is a Bas Armagnac grown on sandy soils in the heart of the Bas Armagnac where one finds Domaine de Bordeneuve. Spending six months in new oak followed by a seven year period in old oak, it has noble flavours and is very pleasant on the palate. It is as an after dinner drink that the Baron de Sigognac presents its full range of aromas. The Baron de Sigognac VSOP is a Bas Armagnac older than 7 years, which is why it is sometimes sold under the label 7 years old.
A classic ale with a malty, fruity, nutty aroma and a complex, satisfying flavour.
